WHAT ACTUALLY MAKES PEOPLE LOOK STYLISH
Social media teaches us every day how to be stylish and what to wear with what. But after years in fashion retail I noticed an interesting paradox. The people who look best are those who don't think about rules at all — they simply wear what feels like theirs.
As creative director of NEWBORN K concept store in Warsaw I want to share my understanding of style. This isn't just my personal view, it's the values our team shares and around which we built the entire project.

WHERE TASTE COMES FROM AND WHY IT’S NEVER ABOUT TRENDS
Taste isn't something you're born with like a superpower — it's always an internal evolution. My own taste was shaped by music, cinema and Kyiv second-hand shops in the early 2000s. That sounds simple, but it's exactly where my sense of what makes a good piece came from — and it was never measured in price tags.
A sense of style develops through lived experience: things that make you stop and look, local culture, the people around you and music that resonates somewhere deep inside.
Style is a personal language that a person builds over years. And it's unique to everyone.
That's exactly why at NEWBORN K we stay away from fast fashion. Not out of principled opposition, but because trends are always someone else's language. What interests us is helping you find your own.

EVERY BRAND IS A POSITION
The brands at NEWBORN K are as different as our people. That's why we don't limit ourselves to a single style, but bring together niche brands from around the world in Warsaw. What connects them all is one thing — each has a clear design position behind it. That's what makes it part of our selection.
Carhartt WIP — the American workwear legend that became the foundation of streetwear. Since 1989, the same logic: solid materials, considered construction, things that last for years.
Han Kjøbenhavn — a Danish brand that started with eyewear and grew into something much bigger. Dark aesthetic, raw urban character, design that doesn't try to please everyone.
ROA — an Italian trekking footwear brand from the Dolomites, that proved shoes designed for the most demanding terrain look just as good on a city street. Vibram soles, Italian craft, zero compromise.
Carne Bollente — Parisian provocation and post-irony in fashion. A brand that uses humour and bold graphics to talk about important things without taking itself too seriously.
Goldwin — a Japanese technical brand that has dressed Olympians and consistently leads the industry in next-generation materials. Alpine minimalism meets Japanese precision.
Post Archive Faction — Korean avant-garde on the edge of fashion, technology and an apocalyptic vision of the future. Deconstruction, asymmetry, technical fabrics and a numerical collection language all its own.
Blundstone — an Australian footwear legend from Tasmania since 1870. A chelsea boot that has survived generations without changing its concept — because good design doesn't need updating.
These brands are timeless not because of classic cuts, but because they are clothes with character — each with its own idea behind it. Pieces from previous seasons are just as relevant as those from new collections. The value of good design doesn't change from season to season.
NEWBORN K CREW — OUR LIKE-MINDED PEOPLE, NOT JUST CUSTOMERS
Over the years of running our space we've learned to see the people behind the clothes. And we've come to understand that our customers completely defy standard marketing criteria.
On any given day our concept store might be visited by a creative from an ad agency who hasn't missed a Warsaw party or drop, but eventually got tired of the visual noise and now looks for quality clothes without logos. Or a bank employee who after a day in a white shirt wants to reclaim freedom of expression. A woman in her 50s who is inspired by her children's wardrobe and refuses to accept age stereotypes walks in, alongside a young entrepreneur who got tired of looking like everyone else on Instagram.
We call all these very different people NEWBORN K Crew. Their common trait is a maximally honest approach to their own wardrobe. They choose clothes to like themselves in the mirror, not to please social media algorithms or colleagues at a corporate event. At the same time we genuinely welcome those for whom clothing is a way to make a bold statement to the world.

FAQ
What is style according to NEWBORN K?
Style is a personal language that a person builds over years through their own experiences, taste and surroundings. It's not about wearing the «right» brands or blindly following seasonal trends. That's why we look for brands with a clear design position rather than those that simply adapt to the market.
Why are the brands at NEWBORN K so different?
Everyone is different and so are their styles. We don't try to select brands around one aesthetic — we look for those that have their own character and unique language.
Are items from previous seasons current?
Absolutely. The pieces from the brands we carry remain relevant regardless of the season because we focus on style without trends. Good design doesn't lose its relevance from collection to collection.
Who is the NEWBORN K Crew?
That's what we call our community. People with a formed taste or a desire to find one, for whom it matters to like themselves rather than meet other people's expectations. Different in age, profession and style, but alike in making conscious choices.
Where is NEWBORN K located in Warsaw?
Our concept store is at ul. Krucza 2 in Warsaw. We also have an online store with fast delivery across Poland — newbornk.pl.
